Chelsea 2021 – The virtual Chelsea!

Its a virtual world for Chelsea for the second year running and if you, like me, are hanging out for your flower fix here’s how to access it!
Also brag alert, the header photo was a garden I helped build back in 2007!

I’ll be sad to be missing the flower marquee again

Given the weather maybe the fact that the Chelsea Flower Show has gone virtual again for 2021 is a blessing in disguise. Relentlessly cold, the task of bringing enough plants to that peak of perfection would have been tougher than ever! But with this being the second year of no Chelsea how will that affect a very niche industry of show gardens and what can we expect from this years virtual Chelsea?

One of the fabulous gardens from past Chelsea

Running from the 17th to the 21st May it acts somewhat like the real Chelsea insofar as RHS members get pre-access on the 17th.

But what will you see?

Apparently they will be bringing us well known names from showbiz and horticulture such as DJ Trevor Nelson & Jo Whiley (obviously they fall into the showbiz category!) and for the designer purist Sarah Eberle, Charlotte Harris and Tom Massey.

Theres also hints and tips from the great and good of horticulture and links to the virtual nurseries and the best bit, no crowds!

Crowds always were my least favourite part of Chelsea

and if you’re feeling adventurous (and of course respectful of current regulations, wearing a mask and looking after staff and other visitors alike) you can visit Hardys plants Nursery in Hampshire, as part of the Candide Festival of Flowers on 17th May, to see their fabulous last creation for Chelsea in the flesh!
